Even the Torontonians (I've heard the locals call themselves that) seem to lack an identiy. If you check out the eastern seaboard you can tell who's from where. You can seperate someone from Philly to Jersey, New York, Boston, Pittsburgh, heck, even from Miami, Chicago, LA......People have a different flavor about them. My guess would be Torotonians try to replicate New Yorkers, but a poor man's version. For the comment of not being polite which the OP started, that where the attitude may stem from. But all in all I find the overall attitude much more pleasant. Like I said, come to Philly and you'll find out what rude is.
We do try to replicate NYC, and I don't necessarily understand why. With that said.... when it's warm there is no place I would rather be. This weekend had so much energy, everywhere you looked things were popping off. For the next four to five months I will be in Heaven.

I enjoy diversity. But not when a city is overwhelmed by it. Whether you think it's racist or not doesnt really bother me. For example I like montreal because it's got a mix of Italians, Greeks, hatians, Lebanese, Armenian, Asian, etc. you don't feel overwhelmed by one ethnicity.
I walk around in Toronto sometimes and feel like I'm in Hong Kong. I go to casinos and I'm the visible minority. For me it lessens how much I personally value that city. Maybe that sounds racist, but I don't really care

macmac has a point. When some people of one race is a majority part of a district, they tend to bring some of their own standards up and sometimes over the neutral Canadian ones. Some are acceptable, some are barely.

No one in Toronto wants someone like you here anyway. Crazy how perfect that worked out.

Hilarious when white people complain about having to be in the minority temporarily.
