Phil Jackson, the guy who coached Kobe pretty much his whole career, said he got a good amount of those selections based on name recognition.

Not even man, he may have better stats AKA more "Efficent" , but that's because Kobe takes way more difficult shots than all of these pansies , who mainly live around the basket.

Wade is a terrible shooter and barley a better defender, but only because he cherry picks.

Coupled with Kobe's footwork, skill ,work ethic and longevity and i'll take Kobe Bean Bryant 10/10. Screw the stan BS , that's just how I feel.

Who cares the question is if he plays defense which Durant since 2012 does. Every stat shows it.

I don't give a shit. I'm sure everything (eye tests, raw stats, advanced stats, etc.) would show you current Durant is, at the very least, as good of a defender as 2005-2007 Kobe, if not better.

I think Kobe was the same player in those three seasons as he was in 07-08, and possibly 08-09. He just had a legitimate second option, more defensive intensity/effort, and perhaps a better attitude.

Working out with Grover (starting summer of 07) also helped him out.
