SF - Durant/Roberson/Gomes
PF - Ibaka/Collison/Jones
C - Perkins/Adams/Thabeet/Orton

2. TRUE or FALSE: The Thunder $&@!ed up the James Harden situation badly.

3. TRUE or FALSE: Head Coach Scott Brooks should be replaced.

4. No Harden, No Martin: Just who in gods name is going to be a Third Scorer on this team? Huh? Who? I mean, GOOD LORD!!! Look at the roster, for Christ's sake!! Holy Moses, they're in trouble right? Alluha Achbar, but still....In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Who is going to SCORE?!

5. The Oklahoma City Thunder will get back to the Finals if they.....

BONUS CHARITY WORK

In all seriousness, we at InsideHoops were saddened to see the horrific tragedy that took place in Oklahoma City this summer. The level of shock and devastation is beyond really what we can fathom. No one knows why events like this happen, and we can only say that life works in mysterious ways. But the American spirit shines through. Citizens from all parts of the country immediately asking "What can I do?"..."How can I help?".....

The tragedy, of course, is OKC's decision not to amnesty Kendrick Perkins.

How can you help? Visit the link below and devise a scenario that trades Kendrick Perkins away, to save the people of OKC from their perpetual nightmare, and give OKC a brighter future.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

Just ONE Kendrick Perkins trade scenario CAN make a difference!

Oh, didn't OKC have tornadoes or something too?....you can give help here: http://www.occf.org/tornadorecoveryfund

You can elaborate on your answers.

Next up: Orlando Magic. Have a Five Question suggestion for the Magic? Send me a PM with ideas.

This. You aren't funny OP with your religious dramatics and shit and I'm not religious or anything but that was just annoying and the stuff about Kendrick Perkins wasn't funny either.

1. TRUE or FALSE: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the best 1-2 punch in the league.
--False. They're the most talented 1-2 punch in the league (imo) and therefore have the most explosive ability, but I don't think they compliment each other as well as some other combos. Duncan-Parker and even Wade-LeBron, who I don't think compliment each other all that well either.

1. TRUE or FALSE: The Thunder $&@!ed up the James Harden situation badly.
--I think so. I know, I know. Money, and who keeps whom, or whatever. All I know is that they had 3 superstars, under 25, who played well enough with each other to win a championship and the Thunder broke it up. There's so many ways this comes out unfavorable for OKC. For instance, have you look at the SG situation in the NBA lately? You have Kobe and Wade. Both on the decline, if not retiring soon. Then after that there is probably one legit perennial all-star talent for the entire position... James Harden. Pretty soon he will be far and away the best 2-guard in the league. Then what did OKC get back? A filler for 1 season, a decent, maybe good - certainly not great, SG prospect and a project center. I probably would have traded Westbrook before Harden. You have two elite wings who actually compliment each other, you keep the two elite wings. I wonder if OKC has ever considered moving Westbrook to SG and adding a PG like Chalmers or a Ron Harper type?

3. TRUE or FALSE: Head Coach Scott Brooks should be replaced.
--False. I don't think he's particularly good at his job, but he's good enough to win. If Durant and Westbrook don't have a problem with him (I don't know if they do or not), why mess with the chemistry? Unless you can awaken the corpse of Red Auerbach, let it be.

--Ibaka. But OKC seriously lacks some offensive fire power. They badly need a player like Gary Neal, or JR Smith, or anyone who can score. Even they may shoot like didn't just miss 6 straight shots in a row. They just need an alpha scorer off the bench. Ideally one who can shoot 3's.

5. The Oklahoma City Thunder will get back to the Finals if they.....
--...stay healthy. I think last year was the Spurs last hurrah. They just don't match up well with a healthy OKC team. Then the only other team in the West I can see challenging the Spurs or OKC are the Clippers. And they're the Clippers, you know? I don't trust them. Too reliant on the PG position and a pseudo-superstar. The West is OKC's for the taking. The question is, can they beat the Heat now that they traded away one of their few advantages.

1. TRUE or FALSE: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the best 1-2 punch in the league.

True.

1. TRUE or FALSE: The Thunder $&@!ed up the James Harden situation badly.

Very true. Should've given him the max and traded serge.

3. TRUE or FALSE: Head Coach Scott Brooks should be replaced.

False.

4. No Harden, No Martin: Just who in gods name is going to be a Third Scorer on this team? Huh? Who? I mean, GOOD LORD!!! Look at the roster, for Christ's sake!! Holy Moses, they're in trouble right? Reggie Jackson is going to need to step up. Ibaka, Thabo and Collison can capitalize on easy looks.

5. The Oklahoma City Thunder will get back to the Finals if they.....

Trade Ibaka, Lamb and Perk for someone who can defend sg's, get their own shot and distribute

1. TRUE or FALSE: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the best 1-2 punch in the league.
A -- Assuming Westbrook comes back from his injury fully healthy, then true. Harden and Howard are a close second, though that also depends on Howard's health (mental and physical)

2. TRUE or FALSE: The Thunder $&@!ed up the James Harden situation badly.
A -- FYP. And false, but only because you said "badly". They made the wrong choice, but since when is hindsight not 20/20?

3. TRUE or FALSE: Head Coach Scott Brooks should be replaced.
A -- [sarcasm]True. Let's get rid of a coach that would have brought his team to the Finals two years in a row if it were not for an injury to a top 5 player in the league[/sarcasm]

A -- Ibaka needs to make "the leap" and develop (and use) a legit jump shot. If he can consistently hit 50-55% and score 16-20 ppg, with the occasional outburst, that is enough offensive firepower to complement Durant and Westbrook, particularly with Lamb (hopefully) becoming a scorer off the bench.

5. The Oklahoma City Thunder will get back to the Finals if they.....
A -- ... get/stay healthy. They're pretty clearly the proven best team in the West. Houston needs to gel. Clippers need to prove they can deal with the increased pressure in the playoffs. Spurs need to miraculously stop aging, again. Warriors need Iggy to be much bigger than any of us expect. A healthy Thunder is the safest bet.

BONUS CHARITY WORK
A --
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l96ghmt
Thunder also get an unprotected first for 2015.

It is not great, but if Gordon stays healthy, it works really well. Three guard rotation of Westbrook, Gordon, Jackson is pretty deadly, add in Durant and you don't have any issues scoring. Ibaka and Collison can focus on D and the dirty work.

Honestly, there's no good trade for Perk. His value is too low, no one needs him, and the few players that teams would trade for him (namely overpriced vets) are too costly for Perk's relatively low salary. I'd honestly wait until next year, when he's an expirer, and thus has more value.

He's not funny to me, but he may be to some, and I don't read/participate in his threads for comedic sake; that's what silkk is for. I come here to talk about the teams. It's a welcome relief from the tedium of Lebron, Kobe, MJ comparisons that populate the main page.

I appreciate the effort and the threads. If you don't, fine... but why bother posting in it then? Why even open it?

1. TRUE or FALSE: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the best 1-2 punch in the league.

idk man. when Wade is healthy, Lebron and Wade are the best 1-2 punch. their running game is just deadly.

2. TRUE or FALSE: The Thunder $&@!ed up the James Harden situation badly.

yes they did. it was evident even when James was playing the 6th man role that he was more important than Westbrook. or Ibaka. but then Harden laid that crapper in the Finals and well, you can't blame the Thunder for having a knee-jerk reaction.

3. TRUE or FALSE: Head Coach Scott Brooks should be replaced.

Yeah. The Thunder have gone as far as they could with Brooks. they need a championship-level coach. but really, who are they gonna get who's on the market that's better than Brooks?

4. No Harden, No Martin: Just who in gods name is going to be a Third Scorer on this team? Huh? Who? I mean, GOOD LORD!!! Look at the roster, for Christ's sake!! Holy Moses, they're in trouble right? wow. this is really not funny. but i'll answer anyway. Ibaka. Ibaka needs to pull his weight on the offensive end. if he doesn't, then it would just prove Thunder were wrong in choosing him over Harden.

5. The Oklahoma City Thunder will get back to the Finals if they.....

get James Harden back.

The Harden trade had nothing to do with a knee-jerk reaction after his Finals performance. And there's almost no argument that, while playing the 6th man role, it was "evident" he was more important than Westbrook.

THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER

PG - Westbrook/Jackson/Old Man Fisherman
SG - Sefolosha/Lamb
SF - Durant/Roberson/Gomes
PF - Ibaka/Collison/Jones
C - Perkins/Adams/Thabeet/Orton

Head Coach - Scott Brooks
General Manager - Sam Presti

1. TRUE or FALSE: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the best 1-2 punch in the league.

Huh.... Perhaps true. The other option is obviously wade and lebron, but it seems unlikely that wade gets back to the player he once was. I am trying to think of another combo that comes close to these two and cannot.

1. TRUE or FALSE: The Thunder $&@!ed up the James Harden situation badly.

True. Even if they knew they wouldnt re-sign him, letting him go before the season for a year rental on KMart (not bad, but way too short a deal), an underwhelming rookie and a draft pick in what appears to be the weakest draft in a decade or so massively undervalues Harden.

3. TRUE or FALSE: Head Coach Scott Brooks should be replaced.

False. He has a good raport with this team and gets a lot out of them. He may not be the best coach, but unless they have someone waiting to be hired like Carslisle, Phil, etc., I would not let him go.

Third scorer will be Ibaka. Bench scoring will be Jackson I guess.

5. The Oklahoma City Thunder will get back to the Finals if they.....

stay healthy and play collison more.

It cannot be done. Any trade I try to come within 20% of his salary is highway robbery for OKC

I was not impressed in college or preseason. Sure, he hasnt had a chance in the league, but hes not a blue chip prospect. You traded a top 15? or so player in the league for not much return, IMO.

Package Ibaka for a passing/talented big man like Greg Monroe or a solid PF and a SG who can fill it up something like a Crawford/Marcus Thornton.
