2006 LeBron James vs 2020 Luka Doncic
Who's the better player? LBJ finished 2nd in MVP voting in 2006.

I'd take Luka pretty much because of his 3 point range.
Why would'nt you make this a poll you primitive primate?

Re: 2006 LeBron James vs 2020 Luka Doncic
Luka isn't a good three point shooter despite what the highlights say. He has pretty low IQ shot selection and his release is slow. He's shooting 31% on the season and 32% for his career. Lebron was a better three point shooter in 06.

Hmm. Not sure about that. I think I prefer Luka take an end of posession 3 over Bran but maybe I'm overrating Luka and underrating Bran. But maybe not. What was LeBron's percentage on how many attempts? I still havent researched.

Euros rule NBA, UMAD?
Re: 2006 LeBron James vs 2020 Luka Doncic
Relative competition and subjectivity of voting make 'who finished higher in the MVP race' not a particularly strong argument for who was better. What Luka does without alot of the natural talent and athletic advantages Lebron had at 21 is more impressive to me, but that's an answer to a difference question.

Re: 2006 LeBron James vs 2020 Luka Doncic
It was at 33.5% on 5 attempts. Percentage is low but higher than Lukas and volume would be average in todays game. In 05 he was at 35% on 4 attempts.
I've done some digging on the NBA stats website and Lukas low % on catch and shoot open threes too. He might take alot of them and may make a few crazy ones but hes not good at them and he needs to cut that low IQ stepback he does 6 seconds into the shot clock sometimes

A playoff-mode Luka is yet to be seen though.

Re: 2006 LeBron James vs 2020 Luka Doncic
I mean Luka has better spacing and is even more ball dominant, probably more ball dominant than any version of LBJ except maybe 2017-18 season. I think theres going to be a trend or there IS a trend going on where teams build around singular superstars and surround them with shooters in a 5-out and just tell them to "hero-ball" every offensive possession. Trae Young, Luka, Harden and Westbrook, Lebron in the 2nd Cavs stint, even the Bucks offense can get like this where its just Middleton or Giannis iso'ing or running a pick and roll.
Pretty much all the Mavs offensive possessions are an on-ball screen resulting in a spot-up or lob or finish by Luka himself.

Lebron in today's pace and spacing woyld average 37 ppg, 9 rpg, and 8 apg plus over 2.5 spg.

Re: 2006 LeBron James vs 2020 Luka Doncic
One thing people never mention about Luka's 3 point percentage is how many quarter ending heaves he attempts along with bailing out the shot clock for his team. I would love to see an accurate % when taking traditional shot attempts within the offense.

2006 LBJ pushed a stacked Pistons team to game 7 , we haven't seen what Lukas can do.

Pace hasn't changed that drastically that LeBron's stats would improve that much imo.
