They should shorten the First Round!

I think the 1st round is too long, and if you still wanna see 7 game series in the first round, make it so that like 2 1and 1 get a bye and the inside of the bracket has to go 7 while the others go 5.

I mean, I don't even watch the NBA, but this ain't helping.

Between the money and trying to eliminate fluke losses by great teams(84 76ers, 81 Lakers, and so on losing in brief series and screwing up the playoffs) they aren’t making it short again. The old 3 game series anyone could win. It’s exciting but it’s also how you get a 40 win team in the finals instead of what should have been the first Bird/Magic showdown.

Those fluky old series are a problem for a league that depends on matchups.

Personally I think they should extend the first round. Do the playins with the four losing teams joining the 10 teams that don't make the playoffs in a tournament for draft order. Stop bailing out these tanking teams so that the same organizations always get the same high round picks year after year.

Had the NBA ever made a rule change that they knew would reduce profits? Not a CBA but a decision that lead to less games like this would. I don't think it happens.
