Bryant suffered an avulsion fracture in two places near the tip of the [index] finger on Dec. 11 [2009] as he tried to field a low Jordan Farmar pass. Bryant kept playing despite a projection of needing at least six weeks to heal – and he played pretty well. He was the Western Conference Player of the Month for December.
He wound up also the NBA Finals MVP, and he got there by refashioning his shooting stroke to put more pressure on the ball with his thumb and middle finger – trying to use the splinted index finger only as a guide. With the help of Lakers assistant coach Chuck Person, Bryant retooled his entire follow-through.
He kept playing because he was told the bone fragments could heal while he played, although he could only play if he endured brutal treatments to minimize swelling in the finger. The pressure applied to the finger by Lakers trainer/wizard Gary Vitti was akin to squeezing a tube of toothpaste with maximum force.
No excuses.

Does anyone remember Fox looking like he got hurt? He didn't seem hurt when he dropped that 3 right in Green's grill at the end of the game. Seems like that would be hard to due with a fractured finger on your shooting hand.
A jammed finger will usually cause a reaction from a player.

I didn’t really see anything. If it did happen late in the game he might have been able to play through it somewhat. I would like to watch some highlights and try to find it. Could of happened on the last play too.

no one knows. I woudnt rule out Spurs beating them, the way they comprehensively outplayed them.

We're basing this off of half of one game? Even though the Spurs were pretty outclassed roster wise?

I agree uncle, that one's painful and will affect his shooting rhythm for the remainder of the series. Maybe it happened sometime post-game.

We sure are.
Spurs had a damn good roster, led by peak-ish Kawhi, and they played in perfect harmony. They would not have rolled over one bit. They would have been a tough out.
Iirc, they whopped GSW by 25 points at the time of Kawhis injury.
That series could have been similar to the 2018 WCF, a toss up.

Yep, kawhi eonard was reay a huge factor in bringing some temporary momentum to the spurs. Athough they were obviousy dispaced by the warriors since kd started joining the 73-win team. Which just made it very unfair for every team they had to face in the postseason.

Add KD to Westbrook and Harden, is it an unfair team? Add KD to Kyrie and Harden, is it an unfair team? Add KD to CP3 and Booker, is it an unfair team? But add KD to Curry and it is totally unfair!
Something tells me Curry is what makes it unfair.

Kobe led two title teams with a broken finger amongst other injuries.
“Bryant’s situation is particularly interesting as he suffered the injury twice, once in 2009 and again in 2010,” Stotts wrote. “He played through the injury in 09 and missed just a pair of games the following season. Kobe wore a splint on the injured digit for the entirety of Los Angeles’ run to the 2010 title.”
Bryant’s injury was to the ring finger on his shooting hand. Warriors star Stephen Curry sought Bryant’s advice when he fractured the ring finger on his shooting hand in November 2017, an injury that caused him to miss one game against the Kings. ESPN reported Bryant told Curry it was one of the more painful injuries he experienced in his career and it did not heal quickly.

So true Curry is the only good player on the Warriors.
