Nationalism is incredibly regressive. Countless historical examples of nationalist societies of all cultures failing. Look at Japan before they opened up trade with the rest of the world. Decades behind technologically.

Japan is the most nationalistic country in the world right now and they have an incredibly built top tier advanced civilization. Their cities and streets are pristine. Where as America's cities are literal hell holes when you step 5 blocks outside the business districts.
