Not enough evidence to overturn the call on the floor.

My guess on the rule - if it even is clarified anywhere - is the play is a basket as soon as the ball is in the cylinder

For example if a player goes up with the ball and is holding it in his hand below the cylinder and someone whacks him... do you call a foul? I feel like logically you would say no, he's already completed the basket.

A basket is a basket when it goes beneath the cylinder. That much I know is a written rule. Ive never heard any rule about the ball being in or out of the guy's hand. So I dont think that is a defined rule.

Yeah they lied for whatever reason or they have substantially better playback than we do but it looks pretty clear they lied.

At 0.1 it was still in his hands above the rim there’s no way that should have counted wtf.
Hand was still clearly on the ball..

    Piss poor reffing as usual.

I thought the ball had to clear the net?
Shots that miss in and out are literally inside the cylinder/rim yet they pop put.

But the ref on the review justified it as good by saying it left his fingertips and that appears to be not true.

I was rooting for the Clippers but you can’t overturn that shit because he made the shot too thoroughly. Forget his hand, the guy placed the ball in the net through the rim during regulation.

On the flip side, the Clippers should’ve had .1 or .2 to work with. Don’t understand that part.

Another good point. Did he let the ball go with time on the clock or didn't he? lol

Doesn't help that the overwhelming majority of the ball is below the cylinder but there is no clear and conclusive gap between the ball and the cylinder (think of a foot behind the 3 point line). Not saying the rules dictate there needs to be one, but it would help.

Who knows. Utterly confusing shitshow that I hate to see turn the tide of this series, that I do know.

I don’t know what I was thinking. This is the only right answer. Refs ****ed up. Badly.

Usually on those less than a second type lobs they try lay or tap it in..
dunk usually puts you over the time.

At .1 he was way above the cylinder and his hands still on the ball at 0…
Shitty way to end the game should have let it go to overtime to decide

    Thats fair.

The league will def have to put out a statement of clarity on this. Because to me, the ball in a player's hands, relative to the clock, should only be an issue if the ball is in play. Theres nothing prohibiting touching the ball in the cylinder. Happens on dunks all the time. So to me that ends the play and ends the relevance of the clock, unless the rules specify otherwise. And if they do that's fine. But this will be a good chance for the league to produce clarity on that.
