I think America is so heavily focused on black/white issues that people don't rank McKinley as a bottom tier President. In truth he was the closest we had to Hitler, he did terrible things during his run.

For me the ten underrated presidents are Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Calvin Coolidge, Grover Cleveland, Chester Arthur, Ulysses S. Grant, James Polk, Jon Tyler, John Quincy Adams, James Monroe

Not sure if this answer is in jest or sarcasm. But Biden is definitely underrated.

Probably not the "most" underrated though, which is too difficult to grasp not having lived through most of them.

Biden can ONLY be underrated. No one rates him highly. Not even the left. Not sure he got Trump reelected though given Kamala ran against Trump. Biden actually beat Trump.

Trump was absolutely destroying Biden in the polls before he dropped out, he would've lost even worse than Kamala did had he stayed in the race.

He would have lost yes, but IMO that supports being "underrated".

Abraham Lincoln is probably the most underrated U.S. President ever. Especially among blacks who don't even talk about the man who single-handily was is the first stepping stone of the life they get to enjoy now.

Lincoln is basically consensus rated #1 overall. He is the highest rated POTUS ever.

To be serious though I'm semi-trolling, but I do feel the black community generally doesn't even acknowledge Lincoln and the footprint he's had on their lives. He was the first stepping stone to blacks having at least "some" rights and eventually not being slaves. That snowballed into people rising up with louder voices like Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcolm X fighting for civil rights.

I often wonder how the United States would look today if Lincoln didn't exist or if the Confederates won the war.
