Chet routinely plays against guys a lot bigger than Buck. Even if guys get to the rim against Chet it is still a struggle to finish against him.

Buck Williams dominated a big man era and packed paint era, while Chet enjoys the open paint era where he can go "down-hill" for an alley-oop - this spaced-out alley-oop format didn't exist in the 80's or 90's, so Chet would be buried on someone's bench.. He might not make the league - skinny jumpshooters like him or Brad Sellers didn't make it as big men back then

Holmgren: 5 blocks tonight, shut down the paint entirely and even played some nice perimeter defense.

Buck Williams: 3 blocks in the entire '92 Finals

When MJ faced Buck Williams in 1992, Buck was all-defense and had made many all-star teams and all-defense, while young Chet is nothing by comparison... Again, Chet is nothing compared to the prime 3rd option vets that Jordan faced like Buck, Majerle, Nance, Vlade or Schrempf... So Jordan faced tougher 3rd options, while the 4 thru 7 spots were decorated resumes of all-star, all-defense and 20 PPG, instead of undecorated 3-pt robots like OKC's 4 thru 7 spots... And of course Magic/Worthy > Shai/Jaylen... Ditto Barkley/KJ... Malone/Stockton were also superior, while Hornacek > Chet (remember that Hornacek was a much bigger producer than Klay).

Show me a game from the '92 Finals where Buck Williams had this type of defensive impact.

Chet is a great defender but Hali going down clearly effected that performance. Both Siakam and Haliburton got off to hot starts and then once homie went down the defense was basically playing on easy mode. Siakam and role players vs a historically stacked defense... yea. Buck would've done the same thing. Anybody could've seen after that injury it was a wrap. You could see the pressure and weight totally fall off the Thunders shoulders when it happened and they played less tight how they started off.

Yea, a dude who averaged 0.5 bpg is accumulating 5 blocks in that single game if he was in the same situation.

Chet averaged 12/9 on terrible shooting with 1.5 blocks per game against the Pacers.

Buck could definitely replicate that dude. Thats simply not that impressive and its wierd you chose now to rep him.

It was statistically the worst playoff series of Chets career. Siakam had him in a straight jacket on defense.

Don't back peddle now. You clearly said Buck Williams could replicate 5 blocks in that game 7 alone.

I also saw Chet alter a shit ton of shots throughout the Finals that weren't blocks. Buck is too small to do that.

Like I said earlier, Buck Williams wouldn't even be playable in today's league. He would be a liability, just an old school power forward who can't shoot nor provide rim protection.

    We done with the 90's!

He averaged 1.5 blocks on the series. Thats not impressive or crazy at all. Buck was also a much better rebounder and physical presence.

12/9/1 just isn't crazy to replicate my guy. Horace Grant could've done this too easily in this series.

Had 5 blocks in the biggest game you could possibly have.

He actually averaged 1.6 bpg. Now you are rounding it down to 12/9/1 when it should be 12/9/2.
This is a 3ball tactic. Lying about stats. congrats.

Oh it was 1.6 instead of 1.5

Monster production. That 12/9/1.6 on poor shooting is definitely untouchable.
