He created a nonprofit of sorts and funneled money to himself, that's about it. The backlash is that if it's all bs and made up under the guise that it's 'based on a true story' it can harm actual organizations that have been battling trafficking for years. Apparently organizations actually combating human/child trafficking have had an influx of volunteers grossly misinformed about its basic realities, and in some cases being resistant to education from actual people while deferring to stuff they “learned” from this movie and other instances of either extremely exceptional cases or straight up conspiracy theories.

Also the Maxwell testimony before Congress is coming. She has said in her past that videos of Trump exist. So we will see what she has to say when asked. Has she been compromised? Very possible.
