Even if there was any validity to what you're saying as causation or a lack of causation, my point still remains for Latinos and Asians and any other minority. You don't see this type of behavior coming from them. The whole ganging up on people and punching them and stomping on them...it seems to come from one race only. I'm a first generation American in my family as many of my friends are and we aren't sitting in bathrobes. We were dealt the same hand as everyone else and we're not stomping on people.

There's no such thing as white people "as a whole" dude. 95% of us have no connection to wealthy class that exists above. We're literally out in the same society as everybody else interacting with average people all day.

Nope. We're not. White people are all different and came from different classes and financial situations. Like I said before Irish and Italians and other European immigrants were dirt poor when they came here. Only a small 1% at the top was rich and looking to entrepreneur. The rest were just trying to flee Europe.

Asians sure. I think that most Asian cultures have strayed away from violence for hundreds of years though, and for different reasons than power it seems. Outside of the Japanese of course but, and I don't actually have the numbers on this, I'd wager that very few poor Asian immigrants are/were from Japan.

But Latinos..aren't there plenty of Latino gangs and violence in certain pockets there?

In general, it seems like most immigrants would not have any sort of violent tendencies (for the most part). If you're going to willingly put in the work to move your family to another country then it would make sense to keep your head down and your nose clean for one, but also the idea of doing so generally comes from a good place. The whole "just trying to make a better for your family" thing.

Comparing Asians isn’t fair. The sample size of Koreans, Chinese, Taiwanese and Indians in America are the most educated; they’re professors, doctors, engineers, CPA’s etc. If you take your sample size from that particular group of course they will be less violent lol. I promise you I see plenty of thugs and street gangs whenever I go to Seoul, and the rape culture in India is absolutely abhorrent from the perspective of someone who’s lived their entire life in US. I remember staying in a 5 star hotel there(not a flex, it came down to like $350/night), obviously in a nice area but one street down you will see food vendors picking their ass while they cook. Far cry from the US where if you’re in a neighborhood with a bunch of Indians you’ll have felt like you made it.

And I’ve never done a deep dive or anything into it, but I wonder how much slavery affects the black households of today? Irish, Italian, and Chinese immigrants however poor at least came over with strong family values right? I’d imagine you’d have to be a family person to risk it all and leave all you know to make a better life for your kids, so if we generalize the Italians who came over aren’t going to be the deadbeat dads. But then black slaves kind of have broken families as all they knew because they were torn apart and sold piecemeal to the highest bidders. If you were 6’4 and jacked, you were forced to breed all day and rented out to other slave owners so they can breed you with their female slaves. It was no different than how we breed prized thoroughbred. You think the children that came of this have a real chance at developing family values?

It's definitely a big facet of why black fathers are so absent. Most white and latino families have a deep family tree they can go down, a last name to follow, and family traditions to uphold. In the back of their mind, they have to do their family proud, and live up to their last name.

Most black families in the US lack that family tree, the last name was given to them by a slave owner, it isn't theirs, and the father has no pressure on him to uphold the family traditions and uphold the pride of the last name. And their own father wasn't around, so they simply do not care.

It takes one of them to break that cycle, but much much much much easier said than done.

I don’t want to put words in your mouth so I want to be certain of what your message is here. So Irish people were slaves too and don’t commit crimes at the rate of blacks, so what’s the excuse? Is that the gist of it?

Too many view this topic through a black and white lens when in reality it is very complex. There are several reasons the black community has higher rates of violence. One of the reasons is in fact genetics though. African Americans were bred no different than farm animals early in the slave trade, they are bigger and stronger and faster than their ancestors are over in Africa. They are "alpha males" in the sense that the right likes to think of that term. And the result is higher testosterone than other races, which leads to aggressive behavior.

Other reasons are the obvious, they started here with nothing and have much higher rates of poverty. Their slave history is a contributing factor. And then yes, we can point to black culture, gangsta rap music, glorifying the drug trade and gang violence, etc. And that part is something the black community has to fix themselves.

All of these things are facets of the issue. It isn't just one thing.



But knowing all that? Now what? Whites need to understand they have a bigger hill to climb, and blacks need to understand their culture isn't doing them any favors. The genetic part? Nothing can be done.
