I guess. Anyone with a star not tanking is in the mix.

The only team in the EC with a truly great level of talent is Cleveland. The Knicks are a consensus ECF pick when two of their five starters are subpar defenders (KAT and Brunson). You are certain that Milwaukee, who lost Lillaird and Philly, whose two top contract players dont stay healthy will be better?

The East may be weak, but the Celtics are weaker.
The Cavaliers are flawed, & the Knicks are top-heavy, & the Bucks are creaky. Sure.

But the Celtics didn't just lose talent. They lost identity.

    No Tatum.
    No defensive backbone.
    No hierarchy.

Brown is not a solo act. Simons guarding air doesn't fix that.
You can talk about the others' problem all day but the Celtics have much bigger ones: pretending last year banner can still play defense.

Every team in the East except maybe Orlando has at least one starter that can be abused defensively and the Celtics may or may not be starting Simons. You are acting like these other teams don't have their own flaws when Milwaukee lost a major scorer and will be counting heavily on Kyle Kuzma. Relying on Paul George on Joel Embiid is the reason why Philly was just in the lottery. Tyler Herro isn't a terrible defender? These teams are beatable. Celtics are as well but I'm not acting like they're a level above these guys. After Cleveland, New York, Detroit and Orlando the East has serious questions.
