New Orleans signs DeAndre Jordan! (1yr, 3.6m)
Year 18! Pretty good career for the big guy.

This guy must be the best hang, because he cannot play anymore, and hasn't been NBA level in years.

Bullshit.
I don't understand why people get suckered into believing that not playing is the same as not being able to play.
The overwhelming majority of his appearances all last season were spot minutes, anywhere from 5 minutes to 12. Here is his complete output last year when given significant minutes, more than 20:
4/2 vs Spurs, 36 minutes: 10 points, 17 rebounds
3/24 vs Bulls, 31 minutes: 10 points, 17 rebounds, 7 assists
3/23 vs Rockets, 38 minutes: 11 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists
1/15 vs Rockets, 23 minutes: 8 rebounds, 3 blocks
1/8 vs Clippers: 23 minutes: 12 points, 9 rebounds
Looks like an NBA player to me. That's Year 16, at age 36. The "Deandre Jordan sucks how does he have a roster spot" narrative that has been going on for 5 years plus is laughable. Am I arguing he deserves 20 minutes a night? No, but he could very well be a nice backup big even today. I'll take a hyper-efficient, role accepting, always ready guy like that any day.

I’ve heard a lot of people close to the league say That he’s quietly one of the smartest and best positive influence veterans in the league. His game makes people think he’s limited to athleticism but apparently he knows the game inside and out and is one of the best bench fixtures. He calls out the other team‘s defenses. He knows the plays everyone is running. He’s great in practice.
He’s just one of those guys you wouldn’t expect it from. Guys like that stick around forever then end up coaches.
Youre gonna see him on the sideline for 20 more years like Sam Cassell.

Sure ok, he doesn't kill your team as your third center. In case of emergencies. Still, you can get a big in the 2nd round these days who will immediately give you more on the court, with potential upside. If he wasn't a well-liked guy, he would not still be in the league. Watch how much better the Nuggets are if Val eats all his minutes.
