For context, thats 2% lower than Josh Giddey who was much maligned in OKC for not shooting well as a 20 year old. Ofc Giddey has made heaps of progress since then, probably as a result of working on it. Who knows what Ja's work habits are. You get the sense he may feel like his game is already perfect.
I dunno what the Grizzlies plan to do in terms of playing him, sitting him, trading him. But Im sure when the time comes someone will give him a nice big contract just on reputation alone. And all the five figure fans will cheer for the hundreds of millions he'll make off their support, regardless of what he contributes. Viva la fish!
Anyway I could definitely see his dad publicly threatening the head coach. We'll see.
I feel like a lot of it had to do with Bane and some of the vets they no longer have carrying in the non-JA minutes. Now that they don't have Bane this is no longer the case. They are not good without him. That Bane trade was awful for their short-term chances of being a good team. I'm sure Ja's pissed about the roster changes as much as anything else right now. The shooting slump is whatever, he's still able to attack and get to the FT line and finish at the rim so he's still a great player.

As long as he does a 360 dunk now and then that makes him worth half the salary cap.
For an All-Star level player he's making just around 40 million a year which is nothing. He's making less than OG Anunoby this season with the 29th highest salary in the league. He's a top 30 player in the league even at a slightly washed state so that's nothing special.

We all know Ja wants to come out of the closet. That’s why he is so emotional lately. I’ve messed around with a lot of brothas who hide their emotional vulnerabilities and attraction to men behind a tough gangsta image. ja is no different. Probably had a falling out with Dillon brooks (another DL thug).

Despite VanVleet's absence, Houston still ranks first in the league in offensive efficiency. The Rockets do, however, find themselves in the bottom 10 in assist to turnover ratio. As for what a possible return for Morant could look like, one team executive ESPN talked to pointed to the 2023 trade that sent Kyrie Irving from the Nets to the Dallas Mavericks. In that deal, the Nets received Spencer Dinwiddie, Finney-Smith, a 2029 unprotected first-round pick and two second-rounders.

According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, the Minnesota Timberwolves is one team that has reached out to Memphis regarding their disgruntled point guard. Appearing on SiriusXM NBA Radio over the weekend, Krawczynski highlighted the Wolves' need for a court general. "There's no real point guard on the roster," Krawczynski said of the Timberwolves. "They're asking Anthony Edwards to do it. They're asking Julius Randle to do a lot of point forward stuff. They certainly have checked in with Memphis on Ja."

Wouldn't be a terrible fit in Minnesota. Him and Ant are buddies off court I heard. Ja might be pulling a Vince Carter in Memphis until they trade his ass.

When did I simp for Morant? I used to like him but his attitude problems pissed me off and I gave up on him. I've defended a loser like Ben Simmons as well, doesn't mean I like him or 'simp' for him.
Westbrook is my guy and I will ride with him to the bitter end. I watched Ja against the Knicks tonight and he was not good I still wouldn't call him bad at basketball, but he does need a new start somewhere else. His heart ain't in Memphis.
