Default Why is the Lakers-Clippers game starting at 8pm pacific time?

The late starts were usually at 7:30 Pacific time, now it's 8.

I'm guessing it's an NBC thing? I think I saw a few other games earlier this season start at that time with NBC.

I assume it’s because the regular network time schedule is adhering to college games this week but still wanted the Lakers in their own slot.

It's the NBC new "prime time" start times. Put the early game at 8pm on NBC in the East and only on Peacock in the West. Then reverse the stations when it comes to the 11pm game. Their way of thinking fans will be settled in ready for the game at 8pm.
