Celtics aren’t one of the 28 teams he roots for.

Celtics are good enough to tread water and be a play-in team and when Tatum returns they can still do something in this EC.

The videos I've seen of Tatum, Lillard and Haliburton make it seem like they could all play at the later part of this year. I don't think any of them realistically should though.

Players will typically try their best to come back ASAP, especially if they are young. Their sport is a big part of their identity.

Full Court is extremely gay he still can't get to stop thinking abt. random adult men
Just defeated the top-seed pistons. Looks like they're back on track.

They are doing better than I expected and certainly are not tanking by I don't think they can do anything in the playoffs without a strong return by Tatum. I respect Detroit but that's not a great team. Cunningham is a great player and Thompson is an exceptional defensive weapon but they don't have enough scoring. The Thunder would sweep them in a series and the average margin would be over 20. Last year's Celtics would be periodically bothered by Cunningham but overall it would be an easy series. A real contender would eat the Pistons alive. Fortunately for Detroit the East may not have a real contender.

And I can't say "I told you so" to anyone. Good to be wrong so far though. I never would have foreseen the way Jordan Walsh had emerged. The best version of JB that we're seeing doesn't surprise me, he's a talented scorer and good leader. But the Celtics have hit on two unheralded players big time with what Walsh and Queta have done.
If the Celtics want to move Simons they aren't letting the desire to improve his trade value effect Mazzulla's game plan. He's come off the bench for every game, had both big scoring nights as well as a few games he didn't do much. And he's being coached to fit with what the Celtics do as a team, I won't say he's a great defender but he's ok on the ball.

After the top 5-6 teams in the league there's a pretty large interchangeable group of teams that can all beat each other, and then a few bottom feeders below that. The Pistons and Raptors went on early runs but have dropped a bunch recently, then the Celtics and Magic have been on a run lately, altho the Magic run just ended today because Franz went out with an injury.
I dont think there's much to read into it. Other average teams will have their own win clusters at some point in the season and their share of slumps too. Boston - and most teams in the East - are honestly liable to do anything from lose the play-in to make the conference finals. I dont think a string of wins here or there for any team really changes their place in that formulation.
