OKC's performance reminds us you don't need to slam together X All-Stars to win a ring. You can win with team commitment to defense, the right role players, team chemistry.

(Yes the individual players on OKC are very good, but it's how they play together that distinguishes this team.)

You think the NBA would have it in the bag for a small-market team like theirs?

not saying it's corruption, just saying the rules and officiating are in their favor and they are the perfect team to benefit from that. their star player foul baits a lot.

If healthy, I can see them messing around and winning 75 games.

They haven't just matched the best 25 game start in history, they're obliterating the scoring margin as well. The previous record through 25 games was 13.9, they're currently beating teams by 17.5, a blowout even in football. They remind me of the '07 Pats, who started out their historic season absolutely destroying teams.

I'm sure they'll inevitably fall back down to earth at some point, hit some kind of a slump, but as of today, I don't see any reason, if they stay healthy, why you'd pick against them breaking the record.

Wow, that is insane. I had to verify the +17.5 margin and it's correct.

Prior to the 2025-6 OKC, actually the team that had the prior margin record was..... also OKC from last year at 12.9.

"2024–25 Oklahoma City Thunder: +12.9 average point differential, the highest in NBA recorded history over a full season. This broke the long-standing mark set by the 1971–72 Lakers (about +12.3)."

    No.

Chet will shatter both shins, almost beyond repair, on a landing off an insane lob dunk where his entire disgusting head is above the rim.

Lou Dirt will catch karma, and get his ankle badly broken (not just sprained) on a landing space flagrant.

League will begin to officiate their perimeter defenders fairly.

League will slowly begin to officiate Shai fairly.

OKC was 2.5 to win the title not too long ago. Probably 2.8 even when they were like 12-1.

    Shame I didnt take.

But 2.2 is still value imo.

They could break the record because today's NBA isn't competitive or prideful enough to WANT to stop them... If OKC has 73 wins as a goal, then they'll win a lot just by being more motivated than everyone else and playing harder..

Nowadays, players don't take it personal that there's a league bully because it's all about their podcast, brand, and the $100+ million they're getting

Sounds like the 90's when a bunch of expansion teams weren't competitive or prideful enough to WANT to stop the Bulls from winning 72, who only did it just by being more motivated than everyone else and playing harder.

LeBron was the opposite and took down the Warriors after winning 73.
