Again, why would we be going to war at all? Saudi Arabia has enough weapons, experience, personnel and wealth to deal with Iran, and as you noted earlier, the attack was neither directed at American interests or property. Why would we need to get involved, especially given that Saudi Arabia is practically in a proxy war with Iran in Yemen? Some of you hammered Obama for wanting to get involved in Syria where all manner of atrocious human rights violations, war crimes, and a refugee crisis were taking place, but now we're ok with consulting with Saudi Arabia as to whether we should get involved in another war. You guys need a refresher on your talking points.

i think it's clear to iran, the taliban, nk, etc now that maga = the ultimate paper tiger.

you can shoot down drones, knock out 5% of the world's oil supply, fire missiles into the ocean to your heart's content and there's nothing to really worry about except maybe the occasional hurtful tweet and catchy empty threat.

fire and fury.

locked and loaded.

etc.

goat era for rogue nations/despots.

Obama drew a line in the sand and did nothing when it was crossed. He royally fucked up no matter how you sugarcoat it. And you know if this incident had happened under his watch he would be consulting with the Saudis too. Quit letting TDS cloud your vision.

And btw no one is calling for war with Iran.

Obama should not have drawn a red line on Syria. It was foolhardy and premature given that he was looking for political cover to do so from war weary electeds. Obama has acknowledged as much. But let's take a full assessment of what happened... what was the response from Republicans in the House and Senate when Obama wanted to get involved in Syria? I can start trotting out the quotes if you'd like. Even better, do you recall what Trump's response was? If not, can you guess?

So again, if no one wants war with Iran, why is Trump talking about being "locked and loaded" and the possibility of military action in support of "The Kingdom" and "under what terms we would proceed!

Just to recap: Saudi Arabians financed and executed the attacks on Sept. 11 2001. The United States responded by attacking Iraq which happened to be Saudi Arabia's main concern at the time.

Now, the Saudis realize that with Trump in office, this is the best time to bring down Iran. They absolutely have to make this happen before Trump leaves office because they might have to deal with a Democrat...which would only be a tiny bit more difficult....Actually, I bet Hillary Clinton would have already got this war going with Iran. She's actually in deeper and more corrupt than Trump.

I just remembered something from my past. My dad was career army, special forces, etc. When he retired from active duty he doubled dipped as a civilian and taught courses at the special warfare school at Fort Bragg. Foreign governments would send officers to attend this school, Saudi Arabia being one of them. My dad said he had some very talented guys go through there but he always hated the Saudis. He said they were lazy and pretty much terrible students. No wonder they can't handle the situation in Yemen even with our help.

Big difference between consulting and having Saudi Arabia tell us what terms WE should proceed under. Why should they tell us what to do? Can't we collect the facts and determine for ourselves what to do or not to do?
LMAO. Saudi is not telling us what to do. Our mission is to protect their oil and the flow of their oil on seven seas. This is one of the vital factors that make us powerful and have so many leverages both politically and economically. This is why our politicians have all the brains to seal the deal with Saudi. If you think them using us like a security blanket for free then you should think again and deeper.

So you are telling me we are beholden to protecting THEIR interests and holding up their d!cks because we desperately need that oil. Same country that had a part in screwing us over on 9/11.
