Who can play with Randle? He seems like a very low iq player. Bully ball downhill.

Honestly he's probably at his best when he is playing bully ball downhill and shooting semi-intelligent midrange shots. It's when he thinks he's a consistent volume 3 point shooter that trouble happens. Just all around terrible shot selection.

I can actually see Minny drastically improving from this trade. Wolves survived many years of KAT going ghost and worst case Randle is the same. DiVincenzio is a huge get for them and changes the team dramatically. Their team will be even tougher and they should lean into Randle's bully ball and just go out there and be brutes. Edwards/Randle/Gobert and all of their pesky defenders is one hell of a physical team. I like it more by the day.

This is a pretty easy call for Minny with Naz Reid waiting in the wings.

Karl Anthony Towns is on a SUPER MAX and is a certified playoff bed shitter. This trade just makes Minnesota's roster/salary balance much better. Doesnt mean they necessarily go any farther. But in theory it's a reasonable move. Towns is I guess a bit better than No-Longer-Orange Julius straight up by the numbers, but adding DD and a first makes it worth it. They could even look at moving Randle down the line, maybe with Dillingham and/or a first round pick, to Brooklyn for like, Dennis Schroeder and Dorian Finney Smith.

To me this move feels desperate by the Knicks. Towns is a goofy video gamer who plays basketball on the side. Maybe it's just that I personally dont wanna see him rewarded with success when I perceive him as soft and undeserving. But if it works it works. I just hate seeing the Knicks go from Hartenstein/Robinson level effort at the center position, to Karl Anthony Towns. Makes them less appealing to root for in my opinion. Should have just waited it out til JV is trade eligible from Washington.

    ...

None of the messaging indicated a seismic move was imminent. After more than a year of the Knicks making overtures for Towns that were summarily dismissed by the Timberwolves because they were not good enough, many in Minnesota didn’t expect Rose and Gersson Rosas, the former president of basketball operations in Minnesota, who was fired and landed with the Knicks, to get serious about their pursuit.

If they were going to relent to New York’s wishes by finally giving them Towns, DiVincenzo had to be part of the package, team sources said.

The two-for-one opens up more options for tweaking the roster going forward. Randle and DiVincenzo have much more tradeable contracts, and the shorter terms could give the Wolves a lot of leeway three years down the road. With Edwards rising near the top of the league, the Wolves like that part of the deal while also believing they can remain contenders for the season ahead.

Randle has plenty of advocates in Minnesota. The Wolves believe his bully-ball approach on offense can work with what they have around him. He is a solid passer as well and plays a physical style that appeals to Finch. The new combination of depth coupled with anticipated leaps from Edwards, McDaniels and Reid will be relied upon to help the Wolves boost their 17th-ranked offense.

Now the biggest question left to answer is if they are still a contender in the West this season. They believe that Randle’s bucket-getting and toughness and DiVincenzo’s shooting and defense give them a real chance. Training camp is right around the corner, so it won’t take long for the answers to emerge.

Chances Randle opts out of the 30mil next summer, going to want a max deal and Minny's going to give him a big raise?

Thank you. The man hit 283 3’s last year. How do you replace that? DiVo is really a starter and my guess is that it was probably a mutual decision to be traded cause he wasn’t going to start after the acquisition of Bridges.

Minny may have done the trade to get out of Towns Mav deal. Doubt they want to give a large contract to Randle. A lot depends on who owns the team next year which has to be decided by courts or arbitration. Something like that. The current owner had an agreement to sell to A-Rod and some billionaires but then pulled out when either the new group missed payments or he realized he should have made more on the sale, depending on who you believe. Their current executive has the right to quit whenever he wants to of he doesn't like the situation. A lot of unknowns.

We got to stop overrating role players. Don’t remember anyone speaking this highly of Dante until now. I get he’s well liked and all. But he’s replaceable.

No other team in the league would get love like this for making the second round. Celtics won a championship but get disregarded because they had injured opponents. Knicks beat one injured opponent and the sky's the limit. Expect Towns to be called a top 3 center and Brunson the best player in the East.
