Buddy Hield should be playing more (Warriors)
Buddy Hield is the 2nd top scorer on the Warriors with 17.6 points/game. Not only that he is shooting at phenomenal efficiency- Hield is shooting 46.7% from the 3 point line. (https://www.espn.com/nba/player/stat...84/buddy-hield)
Of the top 3 point shooters in the game, by 3 points made, only one player has a higher 3 pt % (Tyler Herro)
https://www.espn.com/nba/stats/playe...sMade/dir/desc
Hield's Total Shooting is terrific for a guard- 65.9% (https://www.espn.com/nba/player/adva...84/buddy-hield). Steph's is 64.9%.
DeAnthony Melton who had more minutes than Hield last game has a 53.9% TS (https://www.espn.com/nba/player/adva...anthony-melton).
Stats are not the whole picture but in watching games its clear that Hield is a key reason the Warriors have been winning. He takes a lot of pressure off Steph by being such an able scoring threat. He doesn't take many bad shots.
Over the last 3 games, Hield's minutes are down from ~30/game to ~20/game. There is no credible reason for Kerr to be making this kind of adjustment.
You have someone who's plugged into the system as good as anyone could hope for and he is riding the bench as a result.
Hield did not have a good game against the Cavs (the game from 3 games ago)- but neither did Steph, who scored just 12 points all game. That is not a reason to sit him.
Over the last 2 games DeAnthony Melton, a journeyman with no particular distinction, has gotten more minutes than Hield.
For the Warriors to win, all cylinders need to be firing including the coach. Kerr in recent years has developed a bad habit of trying to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian; to make a counter-intuitive coaching move that indicates he sees something others don't see.
That perhaps the Warriors success owes to his 4-d chess moves as opposed to their pure talent.....
The Warriors win when Kerr gets out of the way (and coaches in general).
There is no contrarian or counter-intuitive reason Hield should be playing just twenty minutes a game. And the Warriors continued success depends on putting the best people on the court.

Is Kerr limiting his minutes for racisms?

Detracts from the substance of the exchange. Welcome to my Ignore List (#4).

Bro. In trying to figure out if Hield should be bleaching like Giannis does. It's a LEGITIMATE QUESTION.
Remember how you claimed Giannis was bleaching his skin to hide his race or something?

If you're going to ignore everyone who makes a joke, have fun talking to yourself. Very 2024 of you.
I agree though, for all of Kerr's geniuses and cunning strategies I don't get this at all. Then again, he historically refuses to play Moody who is probably better than Melton as well.

No it just means you have to grow up, act like an adult, and discuss substance. Why do you think this forum is dying? It's because people spend too much time on this forum engaging in childish taunts rather than talking basketball.
Moody's been playing well but not as well as Hield. Nor does he complement Curry as well either; historically has not been an effective 3 point shooter whatever his current year stats show.

Kind of early to tell but based on the current sample size the Warriors have been better in the non-Hield minutes on offense while the defense has pretty much been the same if we go by pts per 100. Offense is ~7 pts per 100 better with him on the bench.

Do you mind showing the source for your stats? Maybe thats what the Warriors are going off of.
The other thing I've noticed is that for some reason the Warriors want to stagger Curry and Hield. And have Hield lead the 2nd unit's offense. At times Hield tries to force his shots, but they are going in, at least for now- however, this kind of thirstiness for the shot might not gel the best with Curry on second thought.
I'd be curious if that delta owes to playing without Curry.

Basketball-reference, but pbpstats also has on/off stats n it looks a bit better on there. Steph was out for 3 games and rotations play a part in the on/off stuff.
He's a solid fit and has had a great start offensively but I think the minutes are a result of the Warriors' depth at guard.

Sammy Sosa did the same thing.

Giannis would still look african though even if he was totally white skinned.

Top 10.
Re: Buddy Hield should be playing more (Warriors)
I don't agree. I think he's really good but that is also because of how much he plays. Part of the reason he's not a massive liability defensively is because of the minutes he plays. If he played more, he would be a black hole. Melton/Buddy combo is perfect because you have your elite 3&D guy and then you have your automatic gun from the bench.
