Default The SGA "Free Throw Merchant" saga is BS. Where was that energy in 2022/2023?

It's only because he's the favorite this year to win MVP that people started this nonsense. He's averaging less fta this year then he did in 2022/2023.

Also he's not the type to look at the refs nor complain to them when the calls don't go his way. Just like Harden had done it from 2012 to 2020. He used the rules to his favor and also won 1 MVP during his time in Houston.

Where was the free throw merchant chants for him? This is Harden taking over 9 3pt per game his last 4 seasons with Houston.

Keep the same energy. Or you hate on him just because he's Canadian? We, Canadians, actually hate you Americans here in Canada more than anybody because of your arrogant president.

The hate energy for Harden was higher than it is for SGA right now. It happens all the time throughout the years. Embiid got that treatment too his MVP season because of how those players hunt for fouls and flail upon contact. Harden is synonymous for his head flail while driving. Embiid was popular for just throwing his 275 pound body to the floor in weird ways after contact with someone who he has 60 pounds on.

In short. Everyone flops to exaggerates contact. MVP candidates get the most flack for it because they're having the greatest success with it "usually".

Jimmy Butler was getting chewed out by fans the other night for his foul baiting, even though I thought they were legit. Minus that phantom one where he didn't get hit. That one was probably more the angle the ref saw it at. They don't have the luxury of seeing 7 different angles like we do at home.

I don't get OP's persecution complex. Personally I've stated that I would gladly see SGA on the Celtics whereas "prime" Harden made me sick. It's possible that I haven't paid close enough attention to Alexander's methods to get all of those free throws but Harden routinely had games where he just should have been ejected for the level of bullshit he was pulling. And I know I'm m not the only one that felt that way about Harden. He's an MVP-winner that was elite as a scorer as well as a passer and was a triple-double machine in his prime but when people discuss the great shooting guards in NBA history he damn sure isn't up with MJ, is also below Kobe and West, and I bet most fans would rather have Wade.

Really just thinking about Harden's flips has me annoyed.

Those are just knee jerk reactions in the moment. That's different to me.

Op watching okc broadcasts from an alternate reality or something?

SGA cries to the refs more than most. Throwing up a shot while flailing and throwing up the double platter hands “where’s my call?” before his feet even completely land is beginning to be his signature move.
