2nd Greatest Player
Why did Jordan never won an NBA championship in the 1980's?
Because the 1980's were better than the 1990's NBA teams. MJ played against garbage oppositions. His 1990's Bulls are lucky if they can win 2 NBA championships in the 1980's.

Re: Why did Jordan never won an NBA championship in the 1980's?
Because far greater teams were winning the chips from 1984-1988:
Lakers & Celtics
And because in 1989 & 1990, the Pistons were allowed to beat the living sh!t out of him.

Re: Why did Jordan never won an NBA championship in the 1980's?
The 80's Celtics and Lakers super-teams could barely handle the Bad Boys, while Jordan swept and destroyed the Bad Boys the instant he got 1 all-star.
He simply didn't have that all-star in the 80's
And Jordan's career was always going to be tied to 1 player because he's the only player that was good enough to be unbeatable the instant he got 1 all-star (and never need another one)... Meanwhile, everyone else needed many all-star teammates and still couldn't win as much as MJ as the best player (since the ABA merger or 3-pointer history, aka modern era).

Re: Why did Jordan never won an NBA championship in the 1980's?
They needed to plug in different types of players to overcome Jordan's physical and mental limitations.
84/85 - Whatley/Jordan/Woolidge/Jones/Johnson
85/86 - Macy/Gervin/Banks/Green/Corzine
86/87 -Paxson/Jordan/Banks/Oakley/Corzine
87/88 - Vincent/Jordan/Sellers/Oakley/Corzine
88/89 -Vincent/Jordan/Pippen/Grant/Cartwright
89/90 Paxson/Jordan/Pippen/Grant/Cartwright
So they basically had to rotate 12 guys in six seasons before they got a championship level roster

Jordan swept the Bad Boys in 1991 because it was scripted. That was the start of the NBC asterisk era (1991-02). Without that, the Bulls never win a title.

They definitely were NOT superstars when it mattered - in the post season.
Lebron had to carry the scoring load more than ever in his championship runs while also leading them in assists, boards, steals.
Wades 16/5/5 and Bosh 12/7.... This is not "superstar" production. It's not even all star production really.
