To me she wasn't so bad that it was noticeable.

During the Finals, what matters most is play by play. The greatest calls which are played over and over and clipped into video shorts are not the color commentary sound bites.

But during the halftime show, there's no basketball to distract us. We have no choice but to listen to what's being said

Van Gundy especially. I don't think they realized how good they had it with him, hard to replace his humor and overall knowledge.

Doris was a quality mix of knowledge and enthusiasm. She was definitely a better commenter than RJ, so it's weird they replaced her instead of him. I still prefer two person booths regardless, unless theres a particular chemistry there like with Breen JVG and Mark Jack going back to their Knicks days and so on. But just putting three random announcers together, I dunno. Two is usually smoother.

Feel bad for DB, shes a class act and highly qualified. I love Legs as an analyst, hes one of the very best, as color commentary he might be slightly TOO technical. I think you need the right balance of knowledge and free flowing hype for in-game commentary. I actually think Doris did that really well.

But hey it's not about catering to my highly individualized tastes. It's whatever Tom, Dick and Harry out there like. So be it.
