Default Warriors give up 69 points to Portland in the first half and lose

Bad D, Poor Coaching -> Loss

Oct 24- Warriors lose to Portland 139-119. This after the Warriors start 2-0 with wins over the Nuggets and Lakers.

D was hilariously bad. Several plays Podjiemski broke the D by not staying on his man. Does that thoughtless thing of double-teaming a no-body on the perimeter, his man is open, Draymond guards Pod's man, Dray's man is wide open and scores. Repeat.

Butler is a step slow on defense; younger guys are burning him.

Kerr decided to go small ball and Portland's wings and bigs took advantage- Avdija (F) with 26, Camara (F) with 19.

Warriors young players were clueless. Post didn't hustle back on D and his man got easy layups/dunks. Will Richard got 24 minutes for the Warriors and couldn't keep his defensive assignment for his life. Why Kerr gave so much time to these players who are a defensive liability I don't know.

Whether it's Pods, Richard, Post - they need to play the defensive side of the game or stay on the bench. At minimum, they need to know their assignments and get back. The moment Pods doubles someone on the opposing team, he should get benched.

The Warriors looked old for the first time I've seen. Butler was occasionally late in getting back on transition.

Overall the Warriors look lean this year. No one coming off the bench that inspires any confidence except Moody (and he had a bad shooting night).

I think the Trail Blazers played the Warriors twice in preseason and while the Warriors won both those preseason games they looked shaky and the Trail Blazers looked good. It doesn't surprise me that the Warriors lost after what happened in preseason.

It would be wild if Portland had been losing for years so that Billups could hook up his Mafia ties and now they all of a sudden become one of the best teams in the league. Not saying that will happen at all, yes I know that Billups was so far only known to be in a poker scam, just spitballing.

They don't have the talent to be one of the best teams in the league. They could be scrappy and better than expected though.

I had plans and was down to skip a game cd Portland but watched some of the replay and yikes. That was bad.

Vs Nuggets there were some defensive lapses but I was able to chalk it up with Nuggets being elite on o, plus size advantage, plus AG having game of his life.

This Portland game is much more troubling though. TBH I am still gonna chalk it up as a one off and lack of effort type of night.

This is what happens when you have Curry on the roster. Defense goes to shit.

Did anyone notice the Warriors sub out Curry during some key defensive stretches in the last minutes vs Denver? I know they have done this pretty often in years prior to him, but it's still always humorous to see.

Wink Full Court's coping mechanism? Writing gay poems abt. a dude who makes him bleed hard

These games at the starting weeks aren't that much significant compared to what happens during the midseason or later on. But gotta give tiago splitter some credit for leading the blazers to a win. And i'm expecting the dubs to be an average-winning team this season, considering their aging veteran lineup. They'll have a hard time against young, contending teams along the way.

Still. Giving up over 130 points is wild. While they've scored a lot, most teams have held them under 115.

Looks like they rebounded against Wolves today. However it appears they will still give up 120 points or so.
