Before if you had cable snd ordered league pass you'd be set to see the games. Now you gotta pay 15 bucks for each peacock and Prime. Luckily when Peacock first came out, it was automatically added to my cable line-up. Im not paying for Prime. Ill pick a month with some good games and use their 30 day free trial

Prime already has well over 200 million subscribers in America. Probably why that’s where the NFL went for streaming First. More people have prime than have cable. They don’t all use it for video, but they have access

Football ****ing sucks but it's popular because people only have to watch their favorite team once a week to be able to talk to other humans about what is going on with their team. Attention spans continue to diminish as smartphones continue to reshape how our brains consume information. The NBA will never compete again. An MJ successor would definitely drive interest but only the NFL can **** up their own dominance at this point.

It's only popular in the States. So not that popular overall. NBA should worry about global stats.

Soccer is popular everywhere else because everywhere else is poor by comparison, largely speaking. Soccer also ****ing sucks but it's super popular worldwide because all you need is yourself and a ball to play.

With basketball you need yourself, a hoop and ball at minimum.

With football you need yourself, a football and 2 other people at minimum. Or just 1 other person if you want to play catch.

NBA really doesn't start till the playoffs

I think for most people it's
    June-October - Baseball
    September-January - Football
March - April - NCAA Basketball
    April-June - NBA

November/December for the NBA is really just when teams decide if they are going to blow up or contend each season. The legue doesn't really start until Christmas Day and after the Trade deadline

A big part of that is NFL superstars dont hop teams like NBA players. In the NFL people follow their favorite teams. In the NBA their favorite players.

Lebron is partially to blame. Team hopping in your prime didnt used to be a thing. Kobe and Magic are Lakers. MJ is Bulls. Bird and Russell are Celtics. Hakeem is Rockets. Curry is warriors. Srockton and Malone are Jazz Etc.

Team hopping culture killed the NBA because most people dont want to watch a bunch of spoiled brats run around colluding and complaining and sitting games out while making 100s of millions of dollars. Its a joke league now.

Group subscription services are saving the NBA while nobody watches.

oddly enough, the new format gave them the best early season ratings in 15 years. But you never know if that’s playing with the numbers which is easier to do with streaming. They might be counting everyone who simply clicked the link and let the stream start.

NBA Sundays have largely been like this for ten to twenty years during the NFL season.
