Should the Off the Court and Political forum be remerged

Not sure how to answer the question. I fear that a lot of regular posters left the forum post-2016 due to how often Politics and Trump were discussed, that not even a different forum solely meant for Politics was enough to keep these posters here. The one poster that stands out to me the most is rufuspaul. He was a regular, and was on the Right side of the aisle, but he found himself being swamped with political talk and he became a huge Trump hater after the whole Covid fiasco I think. So he was at odds with almost everyone, including myself. And he was a cool dude. So I think he realized there was no escaping this kind of hateful rhetoric that takes place on here on a daily basis and he just left.

I get tired of talking about Politics, and I'm willing not to talk about Politics ever again on here, but there are so many posters (with their alts) who will continue to troll and continue to post about Politics that it's almost impossible to ignore. And when their hateful rhetoric is an affront to you personally, you're almost certain to lash out and retaliate.


And if you don't understand what I'm talking about, just walk over to the Politics Forum and look for a thread created by that mental midget Lakers Legend that talks about how Sarah Palin lost to a Democrat. There is nothing Political about that thread. It's a bait thread to lure Right-Wingers into it. All it does is throw shade to people that the mental midget doesn't like, which happens to be Republicans/Conservatives.

I'm not sure how you fix this. Cause even if a person such as myself creates a thread in the Off The Court Forum or the NBA Forum, the trolls that attack you in the Politics Forum just jump to the thread you created to troll and attack you there. Now, this excludes the attacks that myself and highweight have. That's a personal war that will last till the end of time, or till highweight's heart gives out. That's different. But I'll create a thread about "Rate this chick" and the mental midgets will follow in unison and start posting something about Trump or Republicans. It's ridiculous and sad.

The only logical solution I have or "quick fix" is to outright ban the following posters: LakersLegend, Off The Court, bladefd, Facepalm, RRR3, Axe, and SATAN.

none of those posters you listed break forum rules. why should they be banned? if you want to ban that lot on the left, you'd have to ban the equivalent lot on the right. are you gonna go ahead and name them off now? you're literally calling for banning free speech (something you loathe the left for). whether you agree or disagree with them, bladefd and off the court put fair effort into their arguments. you just don't like what they're saying. worst come to worst, just add them to your ignore list. it's not hard.

There has been a significant amount of internal dialogue between ISH leadership and myself regarding the mass deletions. They mostly trace back to warriorfan.

I like having the different sections. One spot for politics, another for everything else. But I feel that it adds to the lack of traffic and prevents growth.

If someone from the main NBA forum visits the Off the Court forum, chances are that they're not going to see much happening, and quickly lose interest. There might have been an interesting topic that they might have liked in the Political Discussion, but chances are that they're not going to see it, either by losing interest in checking things out, or lack of awareness that there's even such a section.

Another example might be topics about something like the Corona, which is known by all, but that were posted in the Political forum, and thus the person that went to the Off the Court never got to see it.

Then there's also the muscle memory, for a lack of a better term, aspect of going to checking the Off the Court, seeing nothing, then checking the Political forum. That little extra step probably equals to 300% less participation. That extra step could actually become annoying after a while, for the regulars, (FultzNationRISE, Highwhey, Bladef, AKA_AAP, Stalker, Diamenz, Axe, Long Dong, Jasper, Off the Court, Satan, TheMan, theman93, Nanners, Warriorfan, Patrick Chewing, and many more) Mr.Fonzworth, I rarely see him, probably because he's exhausted from having to go back and forth, and thus he sticks to the main NBA forum.

And in the original you only mentioned one click and not a few extra clicks. You also mentioned something about other posters that spend hours and hours switching alts across the three forums.

Wow, what a throwback! I forgot I used to sport a HIKARU NAKAMURA avatar. To think he would later on be a draw away from playing for the world championship.
