That's because people are prisoners of the moment. People want self gratification and the next best thing to talk about right away all the time.

The L.A. fires were the worst in the cities history. No one is talking about that anymore because it's not a story for the media. It doesn't mean it won't go down as the worst wildfire in L.A. county history.

The CEO shooting in NY. No one is talking about that anymore and no one will care until the trial starts. Doesn't mean it's any less important.

This photo will be one of the top remembered photos of the decade. If it wasn't you wouldn't of commented on it or cared such to do so.

Don't be a sheep and go by what the media talks about in terms of determining if something is important or not.

This will probably end up being the photograph of the decade. At least in the United States. This moment solidified Trump winning the presidency with the way he reacted after getting shot. And the fact it was the first time in over 40 years since Reagan that a sitting president or president nominee had been shot at for an attempted assassination. The only thing that would beat this is if someone humans land on Mars before 2030.
