Boston Celtics: Apparently want to negotiate a new contract with Jim O'Brien and keep him as head coach.
Chicago Bulls: Bill Cartwright is under contract and his job appears safe.
Cleveland Cavaliers: Current interim coach with no contact is Keith Smart. The Cavs may want Paul Silas. He may want them. Current Nets assistant Eddie Jordan is a possibility. Like everyone else, they also want Jeff Van Gundy. He recently spoke with them.
Dallas Mavericks: Don Nelson is expected to continue as head coach.
Indiana Pacers: Will probably not fire Isiah Thomas.
Los Angeles Clippers: Dennis Johnson may be asked to continue as head coach. Otherwise, Jeff Van Gundy or Lenny Wilkins are possible.
Los Angeles Lakers: Phil Jackson has a year left on his contract. He'll probably honor it, and then may retire for health reasons.
New Orleans Hornets: They need a head coach. Candidates include Tim Floyd, Mike Fratello, Mike Dunleavy, Ron Rothstein, and Avery Johnson
Toronto Raptors: Possible candidates include Paul Silas, Mike Fratello, Brendan Malone, Kevin O'Neill, Mike Woodson, Brian James, Dwane Casey and Craig Neal
Utah Jazz: Jerry Sloan will probably remain head coach.
Washington Wizards: Possible they may fire Doug Collins any week now.
