2014 NBA Salaries

Basic information on 2014 NBA salaries. Most of the info below is for the 2013-14 season. We'll have 2014 salary stuff soon. But some key salary info did come out on July 9 (see below).

JULY 9, 2014 NBA Salary Info: The National Basketball Association today announced that the Salary Cap has increased by 7.5% to an all-time high of $63.065 million for the 2014-15 season. InsideHoops.com - The tax level for the 2014-15 season increased by 7.1% to $76.829 million. The Salary Cap and tax level go into effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 10, when the league’s “moratorium period” ends and teams can begin signing free agents and making trades. The minimum team salary, which is set at 90% of the Salary Cap, is $56.759 million for the 2014-15 season. The current Collective Bargaining Agreement provides for three different mid-level exceptions depending on a team’s salary level. The non-taxpayer mid-level for this season is $5.305 million, the taxpayer mid-level is $3.278 million and the mid-level for a team with room under the Salary Cap is $2.732 million.

OLDER NBA SALARIES INFO

April 17, 2010: Chicago Tribune reports: The league informed teams at the annual Board of Governors meeting Friday that the projected 2010-11 salary cap will be $56.1 million. That's $2-3 million higher than teams were told to project previously. That means when teams can begin negotiating with the greatest free-agent class in NBA history on July 1, the Bulls will be working with $20-22 million of salary-cap space.

April 5, 2010: The average NBA coach salary is estimated to be $3.4 million, down 10 percent in the last two years, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
