Warriors sign rookie Jacob EvansThe Warriors today signed guard/forward Jacob Evans to his rookie contract.

Evans, who played college ball at the University of Cincinnati, was drafted by the Warriors 28th overall in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

All players that go first round in the draft are guaranteed to receive an NBA contract, assuming they wish to begin their career in the league right away. Therefore, this signing is routine, and was expected.

The 21-year-old, 6-foot-6 Evans averaged 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.14 steals in 29.1 minutes per outing in 105 career games over the course of three University of Cincinnati seasons. He earned 2017-18 American Athletic Conference First Team honors in his junior season, and helped his team match a school record with 31 wins while leading the club in points (13.0) and assists (3.1).

Evans will play summer league with the Warriors, which begins tonight.
