InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner met with National
Basketball Players Association executive director Billy Hunter to set the record
straight on a rumor that's spread like wildfire about the NBA possibly setting a minimum age to play in the league. Exclusive to InsideHoops.
Jeff Lenchiner of InsideHoops.com: Can you update me as to what's going on with NBA age minimum discussions?
Billy Hunter: Nothing. Nothing is going on. I keep reading about it and I hear
about it, I think I saw an article today written by some guy Frank Hughes, and
he was indicating that it was already a done deal, on the age, and I don't know
where he's gotten his information from, because I can assure you, that there hasn't
been a deal. And, if in fact we have negotiations or discussions as we're planning
with the league, we're talking about some kind of global deal. So, absence of
major changes, absence of the elimination of the escrow and luxury tax, I can
assure you ain't nothing happening.
