The New York Knicks season is over, with a final record
of 37-45, but InsideHoops.com will provide constant off-season coverage, especially
of the Knicks. Below are quotes from the Knicks after their final game. Many more
quotes coming Wednesday night.
Don Chaney, on the Knicks season: We felt going into this season that we were going to be very competitive in terms of getting into the playoffs. It was disappointing from that aspect, but sometimes when you lose something, you gain something. In the loss, we had a disappointing year but we did gain team camaraderie. We also gained good character, a better character. What we really gained overall was that our team really bonded a lot more than the previous year. I think they gained a lot just from trusting each other, playing hard, and developing some type of identity for the team.
Allan Houston, on the Knicks season ending: Once you realize you're not in the playoffs you start looking towards what can you do to get back into the playoffs. Right now my thoughts are what we going to do to get back there. But my first thought is to take the good things from this year. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family.
Allan Houston, on high points of the season: I would take the way our attitude was this year. We were up against a lot of adversity early in the season. We didn't let it affect us. We never got down, never doubted and neve gave up.
Kurt Thomas, on not going to the playoffs: It's disappointing, but we were the underdogs and everyone counted us out. So we went out and competed each and every night and gave 100% every night. We just came up a little short making the playoffs.
Many more quotes coming late tonight.
