The pros and Cons of the 2003 NBA All-Star Weekend:

PRO -Vince Carter didn't start (13 games is just not enough to warrant a starting spot)

CON -Yao Ming did (Really, is he more deserving than Shaq??)

PRO -J Rich winning the dunk contest by throwing down one of the most ridiculous dunks I will ever see

CON -Desmond Mason losing the dunk contest by throwing down one of the most ridiculous dunks I will ever see

PRO -Mariah Carey's tribute to 23

CON -Kool and the Gang's "celebration" during the pre-game intros (that was painful)

PRO -J Rich busting out some playground moves in the Rookie game (entertainment perspective)

CON - J Rich busting out some playground moves in the Rookie game (Carlos Boozer perspective)

PRO -Kobe rocking the Jordan III's

CON -Shaq rocking some LA Gears (did you see the light up SHAQ on those bad boys?)

PRO -Retro jerseys and headbands

CON -Marbury/Francis dual number 3 and Duncan/Garnett dual number 21 jerseys (that is lame)

PRO -KG, Kobe, TD, T-Mac and Shaq all going off

CON -P2, 'Toine, and Big Z becoming one with the bench (Zeke freeze out part II, anyone?)

PRO -Dominique throwing down an oop in the Hoop-It-Up game

CON -'Toine throwing up bricks in the 3 point shootout

PRO -MJ hitting the game winning shot with 4.8 seconds left in the 1st OT

CON -Jermaine O'Neal temporarily losing all brain function and ruining a perfectly good ending with 1.0 seconds left in the 1st OT

PRO -An exciting all-star game (I hope Bud Selig was watching)

CON -MJ's last all-star game (I hope YOU were watching)
