Elton Brand will donate $235, 000 to help develop a resource
reading and learning center in his home town of Peekskill, N. Y. The donation
will be used for office start up as well as staffing and day to day operations
of C.A.M.P Inc. this program will benefit underachieving, at-risk 13-17 year-old
students who will work toward the successful completion of all requirements for
high school graduation. Kaplan, Inc. and Scholastic, Inc. have both lent their
support through the donation of Test Preparation software and educational books.
CAMP Inc. will engage in the furtherance of opportunities
for disadvantaged or underachieving, at-risk students and their families, through
programs and financial support that will contribute to their overall development
and their ability to maximize their intellectual, artistic and athletic potential.
