The Charlotte Hornets yesterday signed two-way player Caleb Martin to a multi-year contract.
Martin, who went undrafted in 2019, first signed with the Hornets in late July.
As a college senior playing for Nevada, Martin averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. He showed an ability to hit three-pointers, and played good defense.
This preseason, Martin played in each Hornets game, and averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 20.6 minutes per contest.
The NBA regular season starts Tuesday, so teams around the league are making roster decisions as they say goodbye to most players they signed to non-guaranteed contracts this summer. But Martin has bucked the trend and latched on with the Hornets.
