Celtics vs Knicks Game Preview: October 26, 2019The New York Knicks (0-2) host the Boston Celtics (1-1) in their regular season home opener in Madison Square Garden tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Last game's Knicks starters: Elfrid Payton, RJ Barrett, Marcus Morris, Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson.

A few Knicks notes:

Julius Randle posted 25 points, 11 rebounds and six assists over 35 minutes in the his and the Knicks 2019-20 season opener. Randle is the first Knicks to post at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a season opener. This is his first double-double as a Knick and only the second doubledouble in a season opner in his career (15 pts/ 11 rebs- Oct. 28, 2015)

In his first NBA game, RJ Barrett recorded 21 points on 9-13 shooting, five rebounds and two steals over 37 minutes. Barrett is only the third Knicks rookie to post at least 20-points in the season opener (Eddie Lee Wilkins- 24 10/27/84 & Bill Cartwright- 22 points 10/12/79) Barrett (19 years, 131 days) is the second youngest player in NBA history to post at least 20-points in his debut, trailing only LeBron James (18 years, 303 days).

Last game's Celtics starters: Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum and Daniel Theis.

A few Celtics notes:

Yesterday, The Celtics got off their home schedule with a come from behind victory over the defending champion Raptors with a 112-106 win at the Garden…Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each recorded a team-high 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and four assists…Tatum added a team-high three steals while Brown added two blocks…Kemba Walker had his first 20-point night as a Celtic finishing with 22 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks while Gordon Hayward added 15 points and eight rebounds…The Raptors were led by Pascal Siakam and his game-high 33 points.

Jayson Tatum recorded 21 points and a team-high 10 rebounds against Philadelphia in the opening game of the 2019-20 season on Oct. 23…It marked just the 30th time in franchise history that a Celtic had recorded at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in the opening game of the season and the first since Brandon Bass recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds against New York on Dec. 25, 2011.
