Here are yesterday's NBA regular season results:
San Antonio 102, Chicago 80 -- The AP reports: No way Tim Duncan was going to endure a five-game losing streak for the first time in his NBA career.
Duncan was too steady and strong on the inside, and Tony Parker darted through and around Chicago’s defense Thursday night as the San Antonio Spurs routed the Bulls 102-80 to stop their losing skid at four games.
“It was just a bad stretch for us and this is a step in the right direction,” Duncan said after his 22-point, 10-rebound effort combined with 23 points from Parker spurred the easy victory... Luol Deng led the sagging Bulls with 18 points and Drew Gooden added 16 as Chicago fell 14 games under .500... Tony Parker continued to race through the Bulls’ defense in the third quarter and when the lead reached 74-47, boos poured out from the United Center.
Boston 94, Dallas 90 -- The AP reports: Ray Allen returned from a three-game injury absence and a long time on the bench in the fourth quarter to nail a go-ahead 3-pointer with 31.7 seconds left, lifting the Boston Celtics past the Dallas Mavericks 94-90 Thursday night.
The Celtics completed an impressive sweep in the Lone Star State, becoming the first team to go 3-0 in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas since the Sacramento Kings in November 2001... Paul Pierce had 22 points and a season-high 13 rebounds and Kevin Garnett added 20 and 13... Dirk Nowitzki had 22 points and 19 rebounds, and Jason Kidd had nine assists, 11 rebounds and two points, but Dallas fell to 0-7 against teams with winning records since Kidd arrived. Josh Howard added 24 points and Jerry Stackhouse had 17 for Dallas, which led for most of the second half but couldn’t pull it out at the end.
LA Lakers 106, Utah 95 -- The AP reports: Kobe Bryant scored 27 points, Lamar Odom had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Lakers ended Utah’s 19-game home winning streak with a 106-95 victory over the Jazz on Thursday night... InsideHoops.com stat notes: Bryant had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Odom had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Vladimir Radmanovic shot 5-of-6 for 13 points. Derek Fisher, Sasha Vujacic and Jordan Farmar each scored 11. For the Jazz, Deron Williams had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Carlos Boozer had 23 points and 15 rebounds. Andrei Kirilenko had 15 points and 3 steals. The Lakers shot 52.5%, the Jazz 45.0%. And the Lakers nailed 10-of-22 three-pointers.
