International Consumer Electronics Show Honorees in 30 Product Categories Showcased in Innovations Plus at the
Sands Expo and Convention Center
The 2006 International Consumer
Electronics Show (CES(r)) today announced its Innovations 2006 Design
and Engineering Awards Honorees. Sponsored by the
Consumer Electronics Association (CEA(r)), the producer of the
International CES, and endorsed by the Industrial
Designers Society of America (IDSA), the International CES Innovations
Awards highlight product advancements in technology design and
engineering.
"With a more than 1,000 entries from 160 companies, the
Innovations program continues to grow in size and prestige year after
year", said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA. "Innovations has
become a hallmark for the best designed products in consumer technology
and we are excited to showcase this year's honorees at
the 2006 International CES."
Winning entries from 30 product categories will be displayed at
the 2006 International CES in the all-new Innovations Plus at the Sands.
In addition to Innovations honorees, CES' Innovations
Plus at the Sands features emerging technologies and includes more than
12 hot product TechZones, 75 conference sessions
including Industry Insiders, International Gateway exhibitors and Dave
Graveline's "Into Tomorrow" live radio broadcasts. The
2006 International CES, the world's largest consumer technology
tradeshow, runs January 5-8, 2006, in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
The International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards
program provides manufacturers and developers the opportunity to have
their products judged by an independent panel of
journalists, designers and engineers. The Best of Innovations
designation is awarded to products that earned the highest
honors from the panel of judges. These "best of the best" products will
be on display during CES Unveiled: The Official Press
Event of the CES and in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention
Center. CES Unveiled will take place Tuesday, January 3,
2006, from 4-7 p.m., in the Bellini Ballroom at the Sands.
