The Utah Jazz signed forward Juwan Morgan and waived forward Stanton Kidd today.
Listed at 6-foot-8, 232 pounds, Morgan, who played college basketball at Indiana, recently played in five G League games for the Salt Lake City Stars, for whom he averaged 15.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks in 26.1 minutes per game, shooting a very impressive 71.8% FG.
Morgan also played for the Jazz in preseason, averaging 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 11.2 minutes per game, over the course of two games. He also played for the Jazz in 2019 summer league.
Kidd, listed at 6-foot-6, 216 pounds, played college basketball at Colorado State, played very limited minutes in three games for the Jazz before being waived today.
The Jazz through yesterday's games are 9-5, and sixth in the Western conference. They're being led in scoring so far this season by shooting guard Donovan Mitchell at 24.9 points per game, small forward Bojan Bogdanovic at 20.5 PPG, and point guard Mike Conley at 14.9 PPG. Their offense has been a struggle all season, but they're playing the most effective defense in the NBA and that's what's helping fill their win column.
The team's next game is Friday at home against a badly-injured Golden State Warriors squad.
