In a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, the Sacramento Kings yesterday acquired forward Caleb Swanigan. In return, the Blazers received forward Skal Labissiere, according to General Manager Vlade Divac.
The Kings have also parted ways with Ben McLemore III, waiving the guard.
Swanigan, who played college basketball at purdue, is in his second NBA season and plays limited minutes, averaging 2.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 7.4 minutes per game in 45 contests (three starts). He was drafted in 2017 26th overall by the Blazers.
Labissiere, who played college ball at Kentucky, was drafted 28th overall in 2016. His NBA career average is 8.7 points (.476 FG%, .356 3pt%, .766 FT%), 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 19.9 minutes per game in 93 games.
It won't be a surprise if a team were to add McLemore in free agency in the near future. He still has much to prove in the NBA, but certainly should get picked up, either this season or certainly this summer.
