Kerry Kittles out for preseason
Los Angeles Clippers News / Sept 29, 2004
Clippers’ Guard Kerry Kittles is expected to miss up to four weeks of the preseason, while he participates in a therapy and conditioning program designed to strengthen his right knee.
Following is a quote from Clippers’ Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor, concerning Kittles’ status:
“We were aware that Kerry underwent an arthroscopic procedure on the knee prior to the (July) trade (which brought him to the Clippers), however he passed his post-trade physical with no problem. He later sought a second opinion due to a persistent clicking sound in the knee joint, and was advised that his best course of action was to complete a six-week therapy program, which he initiated two weeks ago.”
“Though he has been cleared by our medical staff to play, it’s Kerry’s opinion that taking advantage of this new program will enable him to get to an even higher level of readiness.”
“Kerry is a veteran player whose work ethic is well-known. We will endorse this plan, in behalf of his and the team’s long-term best interests.”
“His progress will be closely monitored by the team’s medical and training staff. We have every expectation that he will be at full strength and ready to go in time for the beginning of the regular season.”
