Knicks sign John JenkinsThe New York Knicks yesterday signed guard John Jenkins.

The deal is presumed to only last through 2018-19.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound guard had signed a 10-day Knicks contract on February 11, played in two games, and impressed the team enough to keep him around, at least for the remainder of this season.

Jenkins is the seventh Westchester Knicks player to earn a G League to NBA "call-up" and sign with the Knicks.

“Obviously we need shooting and that’s one thing he really does well,” said coach David Fizdale, according to the New York Post.

Over the course of six NBA seasons, Jenkins has averaged 5.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 12.6 minutes per game.

He played college basketball at Vanderbilt.

The Knicks are 11-48 this season, which is the worst record in the Eastern conference.
