Memphis Grizzlies star Mike Miller is a versatile swingman with growing skills. His squad is having a solid season, and the future looks bright. InsideHoops.com and Miller recently sat down in the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey for an exclusive interview.

InsideHoops.com: What did you do this summer, both off the court and on?

Mike Miller: On the court just all kinds of things. I try to round my game a little more. Work on handling the ball, work on shooting the ball, work on post stuff, it's all a bunch of stuff you have to work on and that's what I did.

InsideHoops.com: Anything cool off the court last summer?

Mike Miller: Got married, that's about it (laughs).

InsideHoops.com: Hah, congrats, that's great.

Mike Miller: Thank you, I appreciate that.

InsideHoops.com: In college, what was your favorite memory?

Mike Miller: Going to the final four, and making the game winner against Butler to win the first round of the tournament, then going to the final four and playing in the national championship game.

InsideHoops.com: You still love those memories, obviously, big grin on your face.

Mike Miller: Oh, for sure, for sure! That's the highest level, playing in the national championship game.

InsideHoops.com: Who were your favorite players when you were young?

Mike Miller: Larry Legend and M.J., those were the two, by far.

InsideHoops.com: You're getting more and more versatile, and now playing some point for this squad while Jason Williams is out.

Mike Miller: It's fun, it's exciting. Our team has been so good in the last five, six games at really understanding what it takes to win basketball games, and being a part of a team that does things that are a little out of the ordinary that help our team win.

InsideHoops.com: The Bonzi Wells and Wesley Person trade, what was your first reaction to it?

Mike Miller: At first you feel bad and... we're all focused on Wes Person, and it's tough, and I've been in that situation, that's why I felt bad for Wes P. I've been in a situation where you've been traded during the season, and it's tough. But we're excited to have Bonzi, he's a great player. We're just excited to get him in.

InsideHoops.com: He's yet another versatile player. He can do lots of stuff, like you and a bunch of these guys.

Mike Miller: Absolutely. It's going to be fun. I think we'll mesh well together, and I think it'll be exciting to see how we do that. It's going to take a minute, it always does, when a new guy comes in, but we just have to continue to focus on winning games.

InsideHoops.com: Hubie Brown is one of the best. He just gave a post-game interview that felt like a clinic.

Mike Miller: The best coach ever. He understands the game so well, and he's a guy that I think everyone gives their heart to, because his passion for the game is a lot more than anyone else that I've seen, and he just makes it exciting to play basketball for him.

InsideHoops.com: He just seems to know everything.

Mike Miller: The best. He's the absolute best. It's really an honor to play for him, really.
