Brad Miller Sign-and-traded from Pacers to Kings
Ron Mercer, Hedo Turkoglu and Scot Pollard also dealt
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday they have acquired Scot Pollard from the Sacramento Kings and Danny Ferry from the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team trade. In exchange, the Pacers sent Brad Miller to Sacramento and Ron Mercer to San Antonio. Also part of the deal, Hedo Turkoglu was traded to San Antonio from Sacramento.
"While we hate to see Brad Miller and Ron Mercer leave our team, we are extremely happy to have Scot Pollard as a member of the Pacers," said Pacers Sports & Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Donnie Walsh. "In addition, these trades allowed us greater flexibility for the rest of this summer."
Pollard, a 6-11, 265-pound center, has been in the NBA for six years and has played in 305 games for Detroit and Sacramento averaging 5.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Pollard was traded by Detroit (1/22/99) to Atlanta who later waived him (2/19/99). He then signed with Sacramento as a free agent on Feb. 24, 1999. Ferry, a 6-10 forward and a member of the 2003 NBA Championship team, has spent 13 seasons in the NBA and averaged 7.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 917 games. Ferry spent the first 10 years of his career with Cleveland before signing with San Antonio as a free agent on Aug. 12, 2000.
Miller, a 2003 NBA All-Star, completed his fifth year in the NBA and has career averages of 10.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in 299 contests. Miller was not drafted and played for Charlotte and Chicago before being traded to Indiana (2/19/02). Mercer, a first-round draft pick in 1997 out of Kentucky, has spent six seasons in the NBA with Boston, Denver, Orlando, Chicago and Indiana. He has career averages 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 375 appearances.
