As the NBA regular season wraps up, the lottery-bound Minnesota Timberwolves announced a signing today, inking forward Mitch Creek to a 10-day contract.
Earlier this season, the 26-year-old Creek played for the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 9.0 minutes per game. He spent most this season playing for the Nets' G League team, the Long Island Nets, where he put up 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, on good shooting.
Creek will wear uniform No. 55 for the Timberwolves.
Minnesota is just riding out the season. They have talent but clearly need more if they're going to make noise in the Western conference. It was a disappointing season for them. Through Friday's games they are 34-41, good for 10th best in the conference. They had a slightly above-average offense this season, but the 6th worst defense in the league through yesterday's games.
The regular season ends April 10.
