Orlando Magic sign Bo Outlaw

The Orlando Magic have signed free agent forward Charles “Bo” Outlaw, President/CEO Bob Vander Weide announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.
Outlaw (6’8”, 220, 4/3/71) appeared in 39 regular season games last season with Phoenix, averaging 0.7 ppg. and 1.4 rpg. in 5.5 minpg. He also played in one postseason outing, as the Suns advanced to the Western Conference Finals.
A 12-year NBA veteran, Outlaw was undrafted by an NBA franchise. He has played in 839 career NBA regular season games with the L.A. Clippers, Orlando, Memphis and Phoenix, averaging 5.7 ppg., 5.1 rpg., 1.7 apg. and 1.40 blkpg. in 23.7 minpg. Outlaw has also appeared in 22 career playoff outings, averaging 3.3 ppg., 4.0 rpg. and 1.2 apg. in 18.9 minpg.
Outlaw is making his second stop in Orlando during his career. He spent four-plus seasons (285 games-222 starts) with the Magic from 1997-2001, averaging 7.3 ppg., 6.9 rpg., 2.6 apg., 1.82 blkpg. and 1.31 stlpg. in 31.0 minpg. Outlaw ranks on the Magic’s all-time career list in blocked shots (2nd, 518), rebounds (5th, 1,977), steals (7th, 374), assists (9th, 747) and minutes played (10th, 8,824). He was also recognized for his work in the Central Florida community with the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award in 1998-99.
Orlando opens training camp on October 4 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
