Indiana Pacers News and Notes
News and notes on one of the NBA's best
Making his first appearance of the season, Jamison Brewer had the best overall game of his NBA career at Sacramento, Dec. 7. In that game, he tied a career-high with eight points, had a career-high two steals and did not commit a turnover in a career-high 28 minutes. He also tied for the Pacers' lead in assists with three. That was the first time in his career that Brewer had ever led the team in assists. That was just the third time that he had ever logged 20+ minutes and marked just his fourth game ever with double-digit minutes. Brewer missed the season's first 18 games while on the injured list with a sprained first toe on his right foot. Activated from the injured list Dec. 3, he had not played in games at Portland, Dec. 3, and Seattle, Dec. 5, due to coaching decisions.
Jeff Foster also had two steals and no turnovers against the Kings. For the season, Foster leads the team and is ranked ninth in the league in steals-to-turnover ratio with 1.32-to-1. With 29 steals this season, Foster is second on the team.
The Pacers' three-point loss at Sacramento, Dec. 7, was the eighth game for Indiana this season decided by four points or less. The Pacers are now 5-3 in those games.
Averaging 20.6 points and 10.6 rebounds a game, Jermaine O'Neal is one of five players in the NBA (and the only one in the Eastern Conference) averaging 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds a game this season.
