Minnesota Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale today announced the team has signed 2005 second round draft pick Bracey Wright. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Timberwolves chose the 6-3, 210-pound guard from Indiana University with the 47th overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft. Wright averaged 7.7 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.0 apg and 17.0 mpg in starting all three games in which he played for the Timberwolves' entry in the 2005 Minnesota Summer League at Target Center. He missed two Summer League games due to sore ankles. Wright posted 15 points, four rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes vs. Toronto on July 18 in league play.

The 21-year-old Wright was an early entry candidate for the draft after spending three seasons at Indiana (2002-03 – 2004-05). The guard ranks 15th all-time at Indiana with 1,498 career points and tied for third with 186 career three-point field goals made. He was named to the First Team All-Big 10 by the media last season. Wright was a member of the gold-medal winning USA World Championship for Young Men Qualifying Team at the 2004 FIBA Americas World Championships.

As a junior in 2004-05, Wright led the Big 10 in scoring (18.3 ppg), while posting 25 or more points on seven occasions. He posted a season-high 32 points vs. Michigan State. A native of The Colony, Texas, he tied a career-high with six three-point field goals made and scored 31 points vs. Kentucky. Wright led the team with 30 points vs. Wisconsin and tallied 28 points and six rebounds at Connecticut.
