Ben McLemore NBA pre-draft interview quotesNBA pre-draft interview quotes from Ben McLemore, a 6-5, 189-pound shooting guard who played college basketball at Kansas. Here's what he had to say the day before the 2013 NBA Draft:

Q: People have been comparing you to Ray Allen. Is that a fair comparison?

Ben McLemore: I definitely think it is a great comparison. Ray’s shooting ability; we both have a great stroke and shoot the ball well and we have the athleticism, too. When Ray came in the league and when he was at Connecticut, he was very athletic. So, I definitely think it’s a great comparison.

Q: There is no clear cut No. 1 pick. Why do you think that is?

McLemore: Because you have a lot of talent in this year’s draft. A lot of teams want so many things from different players. Different teams want to know what they can get out of these players. I’m just waiting and enjoying this moment and seeing what happens tomorrow.

Q. What parts of your game do you need to improve on?

McLemore: I can improve on my whole game and get it better. I can also touch up on my ball handling a bit. I’m not really that guy that’s fancy with the ball. I just want to get from point A to point B. I want to work hard and be prepared for the next level.

Q: Whichever team drafts you, what kind of player will they be getting?

McLemore: They are going to get a very talented player. A humble player that is going to come in and work and do what he needs to do to get better. I want to help my team win games and ultimately win championships.

Q. What kind of team do you see yourself fitting with?

McLemore: In Kansas, we were up and down. We knew our offense was going to come regardless. So I definitely want to be on a team that is a fast break team and moves the ball up and down the court.
